The Sri Lankan government freezes the assets of publisher Standard Newspaper Private Limited, effectively halting the publication of the newspaper Mawbima. Earlier, on 27 February, the Financial director of the publisher of Mawbima, Dushantha Basnayake, was arrested under the re-activated Prevention of Terrorism Act (PTA).
