The moderation process

The PACT team that moderates the website consists of members of the Poverty and Conflict programme at the Centre for Poverty Analysis (CEPA). Moderation is carried out with a close eye on the site guidelines and the need to verify information submitted with credible sources. Our ultimate aim is to have a spectrum of opinion and perspectives on the Sri Lankan conflict.

If a suggestion for a new event is significant and can be verified, it will be allowed. We feel that if a perspective is respectful, constructive and tolerant in line with the ’site guidelines’, it will be allowed. Whilst we welcome your comments highlighting factual inaccuracies in our descriptions of events, we may not necessarily post your comments. We our looking more for perspectives and experiences. Instead we will review our descriptions in light of your comments and where necessary make changes to the event descriptions if our further research supports your point. The team may need to edit the comment/post for language, grammar, the need for brevity and spelling mistakes. If you do not agree with the changes made, then you will have the opportunity to email the team with your concerns. Once a sufficient number of comments have been received in connection with an event, the PACT team may analyse the responses and post a summary.

Your active participation in accordance with these guidelines will make PACT a success.
